The Lucid Dreaming Academy

Academy Dream #3

(For years I’d had snippets of dreams in a strange hyperdimensional academy/retreat setting, other uploads will be noted their sequential order relative to this milestone entry)

I found myself in a college dorm setting, frustrated with the last of some of the superfluous assignments for meaningless classes. I was skipping class and deciding in that moment to blow it off, unfortunately wasting all the previous time I’d already invested into doing the work.
Just then, I was approached by a friendly blonde student, and she empathized with my apathy towards the subpar curriculum.

She invited me to attend an orientation for a “new department” she also mentioned playfully. There would be free donuts, at least, to lure my attendance.
I am a sucker for donuts.

When I arrived with her, there was no longer any standing room. Kindly, someone offers me their seat in the back. Their gesture really moved me, I was unaccustomed to the open simple generosity.

The auditorium was vast, it’s adjoining walls, creating a stereoscopic set of screens showing a scene from an epic fantasy battle. I realized watching it that it was someone’s subjective point of view. As that insight sank in, it dawned on me that it was someone’s dream. This “Department Orientation” was for a Dream Academy. People learn3d to create dreams here!
They crafted other people’s dreams.

I looked around and realized not a single other being in the room was human. I’d been let into a very, very special place. By what grace, I had no idea, but gratitude absolutely enveloped my heart as the immense potency of the situation sank in.

The main speaker was a being named Rashid.
He appeared as a tall, olive brown skin humanoid with dark hair, looking in his “mid 40s” tho obviously that had no bearing on his actual age or nature in this dimension.

After explaining a bit about the program and it’s purpose, the orientation speech came to a close, and the crowd of students rose to their feet and began to socialize amongst themselves excitedly.

I locked my sights on Rashid and made straight away towards him.
When I reached him, I blurted out without a breath of hesitation,
“I have to enroll in this Dream Academy!”

He, being taller than me, looked down his nose slightly at me, raised his forefinger to gently rest on top of my head, and said without addressing my statement directly, “you have aphantasia”

“That doesn’t impact my dreaming skills.” I said.

“Oh? Then show me, do what I do”

He then transformed himself into a Xoloitzcuintle, a hairless Mexican dog. And then leaped into the air to run around the open air space around us in a squiggling parkour fashion.

As soon as I caught his drift, I immediately followed suit, transforming myself into a Xolo, and leaping into the air and following the unique path in the open space surrounding where we’d just stood as humans.

Trying to downplay the impression I may have made, Rashid didn’t give any immediate feedback or hint of impression, but he also didn’t shut me down either.

He instructed me to follow additional instructions and complete another dream task.

I proceeded to follow these instructions, and when I returned to the same dream Rashid was in, he was almost annoyed at my success!
So, he assigned another test for admission.

This time, he says. Wake up, wait a few minutes, then fall back asleep and find me.
I wake, then re-enter the dreamstate

This time, I arrive in an apartment home and am initially confused by my surroundings. I see a young boy with brown skin playing Sonic the Hedgehog. He turns around to look up at me from his seat, cross-legged on the floor. He looks mildly annoyed. His expression immediately gives away that, ITS RASHID.
I’d found him! In a completely different dream environment.
At this rate, he essentially gives into his agreed upon terms to admit me into the dream academy.
