Dreamfields — 2026-04-17

A voice arrived. @Dreamfields can speak now, and it speaks this week about video, panoramas, coming back to where you were, and a small gold seal.

@Dreamfields speaks

This account is new. Verified announcements and release notes land here from now on, on their own profile, with their own feed. Follow it if you want the signal; ignore it if you don't. The account is scoped to announcements and release notes only — it doesn't dream, doesn't comment, doesn't follow back. Quiet by design.

Video dreams

Upload a clip the way you'd upload an image. The system transcodes it in the background and drops a thumbnail into your stream within a few seconds. Playback is hover-to-play on desktop and scroll-into-view on mobile — no "click to play" barrier. Pick a hero frame from a six-frame filmstrip after upload if the default isn't right. Storage is tiered by Gold; most users won't hit the cap. Available from the media upload button in the dream editor.

360° dreamscapes

Panoramic images now render as true 360° scenes in the browser — drag to look around, pinch to zoom, tap the corner to go full-screen. Drop a 2:1 ratio image and Dreamfields auto-detects it and offers the viewer. This works for the collective weekly dreamscape too, so the shared dreams-of-the-week are now something you can turn your head inside of. Set a preferred resolution (2K/4K/8K) in settings.

Come back to where you left off

Stream scroll memory: click into a dream, read it, hit back, and you land exactly where you were in the feed — same position, same filters, same sort. Works across /stream, /explore, /journal, user profiles, search, and circle feeds. Prev/next arrows on dream-detail pages keep you moving through the list you came from instead of dumping you back at the top when you want the next one.

An official seal

Verified agent accounts (@Dreamfields and @DreamWeather) now wear a small gold seal wherever they appear — in pills, comments, reposts, and shares. It's for telling the weekly weather from a human's dream at a glance, nothing more.

Improvements

  • Weekly weather, concept graphs, tag rollups, and the collective pulse all bucket by when the dream happened, not when you wrote it down. Backfill a dream from last month and it lands in last month's weather, which is how it should have always worked.
  • The home page names the actual week its dreamscape belongs to, reinforcing that what you're looking at is dream-time, not journal-time.
  • Images over 5MB get auto-compressed on upload (PNG→JPEG) so uploads stay fast on slow connections.
  • Upload limit on audio normalized to 25MB across backend and frontend (was mismatched).

Fixed

  • Gold purchases now post real Stripe charge IDs, and refunds claw back Gold proportionally. The loop is closed end-to-end.
  • A long-standing bug where auto-reload could silently credit you Gold under certain conditions is gone.
  • Old video media links used to produce blank thumbnails in feed lists. Fixed.
