The Spiralling Dance of Wholeness (with my double)

I’m in a dance hall. There’s a large dance floor, everyone is smartly dressed, and so am I. As I dance, I move closer to my partner – a handsome, smiling blond man in a light-coloured suit, with his hair loose and falling just past his ears.

We move closer to each other, looking into each other’s eyes. We clasp hands and begin to spin gently round and round; actually, I’m leading. First, we cross our arms behind our necks (this forms a sort of figure-of-eight shape), with our heads quite close together, and we look into each other’s eyes.

Then I want us to hold each other by the waist with one hand and sway from hip to hip, first to the right, but that doesn’t quite work, so I quickly say: ‘the other way’. My partner follows my lead, enjoying the dance and the closeness, smiling; we keep looking into each other’s eyes the whole time. I’m dancing with him (in a white dress), and at the same time I can see myself from the side (in a navy blue strappy dress).

As we start spinning anti-clockwise, a second woman in a white dress steps into the centre of our circle – I get the impression it’s as if she’s my double: we aren’t looking directly at her, but we clearly accept her in this arrangement; we embrace her in such a way that she leans on us/snuggles up to me, yet my partner and I still want to look into each other’s eyes – intimately, affectionately, with delight and joy at dancing together. This woman calmly shares in our intimacy; she is ‘included’ in our light, elegant and tender dance – she has rested her head on our shoulders, closed her eyes, and is spinning within our embrace.
I feel joy, peace, a stirring and warmth in my heart. I wake up feeling energised.
