Hatching Code Eggs in Cedar Grove

Duke Dorje

I was in a cedar grove with my friend Duke Dorje. We were developing these code eggs, injecting them with brainstorms and trying to get the balance right. We were delicately handling and measuring to get the size and incubation time of the eggs right, so that they would turn into fully formed eggs that could hatch.

We were carefully injecting the eggs, wrapping them, and then letting them develop. There was an art and a craft to it. We were learning how to create healthy eggs, surrounded by the cedar grove, deep within it.

Inside the eggs was swirling code. As they formed, they became more opaque and solid. When we were first starting to create them, they were transparent, and you could see a matrix of code and characters swirling inside. We would inject them with ideas and inject them with connections to other eggs. We were fertilizing these eggs with ideas and then incubating them in the cedar grove, sitting with them and waiting patiently for them to fully form.

It was very satisfying to watch the eggs crystallize as the ideas we injected into them would crystallize. The code in the transparent egg would slowly start to become opaque and then become a solid egg that we were collecting.

I was very excited to see what would happen when the eggs would hatch. I knew they were all connected to something far beyond the cedar grove.
