π»β©οΈ Bear Maul
November 5, 2023
I am sleeping on a small platform cruising with a tone mind intelligence self-driving ATV that is pulling me on an open-air barrow platform. I sleep on the platform drifting through a field at relatively high speed. I poke my head up and look around at the grass moving all around me.
There is an important reason that I wake up at this moment. I feel it stirring within. An intuitive understanding that a bear is chasing us. I wake up from my slumber and look around at the moving landscape around me, sensing the bear.
From out of the tall grass near the forest charging from behind me, a massive bear appears out of the grass barreling toward me. It makes a pass barely clipping my vehicle, I have to steer it suddenly to avoid collision with the bear.
Now I jump up out of the bed barrow and am fully ready to activate, running in the field next to the ATV.
Here comes the bear again, making a raging charge. It moves faster than I can escape. I dodge the bear one more time, and it barely clips me again.
Now I hear a voice in my head, and a new understanding, “the bear cannot touch you, try and see.”
Now here comes the bear again charging at me directly. I stand near a fence staring at the bear as it charges directly toward me. I look deeply into its eyes, and its body looks bigger than before. The bear grows to be a massive bear running directly toward me. I stand solidly still, staring at the bear as it charges, facing my fear and following this new understanding that I am untouchable by the bear.
The bear barrels in toward my body as I blink at that moment and miss seeing the moment it passes right through my body. The bear smashes through me, making no contact. It’s true; the bear can’t touch me.
Now that it’s on the backside, it charges at me again, gaining fast speed and charging with its most scary face and dark brown fur. I keep my eyes open, staring at it, and blip, it passes right through me again and passes through the fence behind me.
A third time, the bear charges at me. This time I fully embrace fearlessly knowing that it can’t touch me and enjoy the detail of the complex appearance of the bear and its fur simulation as it runs in slow motion barreling toward me with a raging face. I appreciate all the perceptual simulation happening. Oh, this must be a dream.
Then my alarm goes off with the sound of falling snowflakes.
I asked GPT4 for a Jungian dream analysis:
In Jungian dream interpretation, dreams are considered a window to the unconscious, revealing aspects of the self that are not fully conscious or that are repressed. The dream symbols might be analyzed as follows:
– **Sleeping on a platform being pulled by an ATV**: This could represent your journey through life, guided by the autonomous parts of your psyche (self-driving aspect), suggesting a phase where you’re being moved by unconscious drives or automatic patterns of behavior rather than conscious decision-making.
– **Waking up and seeing the bear**: Awakening in a dream may symbolize a growing awareness of something in waking life. The bear could represent an aspect of the unconscious or an instinctual force that is “chasing” you β something powerful and potentially transformative that you can’t quite integrate into your conscious life.
– **Steering to avoid the bear**: This act might be seen as an attempt to avoid confrontation with the powerful forces the bear represents.
– **Running next to the ATV and dodging the bear**: This can imply actively engaging with whatever the bear symbolizes rather than passively being led by it.
– **The voice and new understanding**: Jung might consider this an instance of the ‘wise old man’ archetype, conveying a message from the deeper self or the collective unconscious. The message, “the bear cannot touch you,” might mean that the perceived threat is not as real as it seems or that there is a protective force within you.
– **Staring at the bear and it passing through**: Facing the bear and finding it cannot touch you suggests a realization that the power and ferocity of the unconscious forces (the bear) cannot harm your true self. It could be a message about facing fears, integrating shadow aspects, or overcoming challenges.
– **The bear passing through the fence**: The fence may symbolize boundaries or barriers in your life. The bear’s ability to pass through it might signify that these barriers are not as solid as they appear, or that the instinctual energies symbolized by the bear are boundless.
– **Appreciating the bear’s details in slow motion**: This might represent a moment of integration and understanding. Seeing the bear in detail and in slow motion could signify a conscious assimilation of the qualities the bear represents.
– **Realization of the dream state**: This meta-cognitive moment can be seen as self-awareness within the unconscious realm, recognizing the dreamlike quality of existence or the illusory nature of certain fears.
– **The alarm with the sound of falling snowflakes**: The gentle sound contrasts with the bear’s ferocity, possibly suggesting a return to consciousness or an awakening from the intensity of the unconscious exploration.
In terms of hermetic alchemy, Jung integrated alchemical symbolism into his psychological theories. The bear could be likened to the Nigredo phase, representing the initial chaos and confrontation with the shadow before transmutation begins. The moment the bear passes through the dreamer might represent Albedo, the purification and clarity of understanding. Lastly, recognizing the dream state could relate to Rubedo, the final stage of achieving wholeness and enlightenment.
This dream analysis is only a general interpretation, and individual context is crucial for a more accurate understanding. Each symbol can have personal meanings, and the feelings and experiences of the dreamer are significant to a complete analysis.
Sounds like you overcame some great inner conflict and reclaimed your power π€
