I sat on the train and in that moment suddenly understood who Olivia in 12th Night was… after rehearsing her for 12 years… It was the moment of explicating “I love you” in a way that the soul was burning and yearning to explore. But to do that in my waking state would be feral, it would be harsh, it would be violent to the man I love.…

I slept to the sounds of a terror. It was a low humming sound under my bed. It made me feel short of breath and expansive all at the same time. In between the state of waking and sleeping I asked it what it wanted like the “good healer student” that I was and it said it wanted a hug. So I gave it a hug and fell asleep to the nothingness.
