🪨🔥 Jefe’s Basalt House

@Jefe and I are hanging out on the second or third floor of a stone carved den that’s in a huge yet cozy house carved from one massive piece of basalt stone.

The house feels half like a dark victorian era living room half like a vedic temple with these notches, patterns and mantles carved out all over the walls.

There is a fire underneath this cubby hole beds which warms the rocks that are solid slabs of basalt heated by the fire beneath them.

Carved out of the stone are these small air intakes that house a fireplace that heats the stone beds from beneath.

The ancient house has a Tibetan incense smelling vibe that feels as it’s been lived in for thousands of years.

And then I begin blowing on the fire that’s in one of the rock enclosures and it starts this wind that creates a feedback loop that starts whistling. The wind rapidly picks up, whistling through the slotted stone intakes as the fire picks up overtaking the wood with flames, accelerating and magnifying the fire.

Now the fire is burning faster in a feedback cycle of wind coming into the intake and up the chimney heating up the entire basalt house.

Jefe climbs out of bed with Keely to come and hang out and we sit on this mantle to have a conversation.

Jefe takes a cigarette and puts it in my mouth and is like here lets smoke this, I rarely get a chance to smoke a cigarette. I’m stoked about that because it’s my favorite type of cigarettes.

Jefe’s fashion has a Howl vibe, and his personality is mixed with the Wizard WhoWiz. Then we share that cigarette passing back and forth, and halfway through it turns into a joint.

Jefe is being very playful but deep and wise at the same time, we’re asking each other an interviewing each other and listening deeply about where we are at in our lives. We are counseling each other on different things were experiencing.

Jefe is listening intently to what I’m saying. He tells me he could get me a job in visual effects in Calgary if I wanted through his brother.

I share an update about working with Chris from Obscura Digital, my new business partner in RL.

Jefe tells me it’s all on me to make it happen. It blows my mind that Jefe understood so intuitively and empathically the inside of my predicaments.

I think oh I better get to sleep soon I feel really under-slept, but the conversation so deep we keep going for a bit.

And then Jefe breaks away and hang out with Keely and then I go brush my teeth in this beautiful bathroom with the massive mirror wall all carved out of the same basalt. I brush my teeth with tea tree oil which has this crazy cutting effect on my tongue and lips.

I can feel yeah it’s time to go to sleep soon and then come back out of the basalt bathroom and then I wake up.
